The BAPS UAE Womenâs Wing celebrated the 8th International Yoga Day at the BAPS Hindu Mandir, Abu Dhabi. Over 400 female devotees and guests from across the UAE came together to celebrate this day which was centered around the theme âYoga for Humanityâ to promote health and wellbeing.
The event commenced with the chanting of Vedic mantras gracefully sung by balikas. Following an introductory speech on being âCalmly Active and Actively Calmâ, Bhagwan Swaminarayanâs mastery of ashtang yoga during his teenage years as Nilkanth Varni was highlighted.
Then, in an interactive yoga session, the attendees were guided on the benefits of performing regular yoga and pranayam. The event concluded with a beautiful musical presentation showcasing different yogic hand gestures â called mudras.
Among the dignitaries present was H.E. Laila Rahhall El Atfani, Goodwill ambassador and founder/president of Business Gate.
